• Conditions We Can Treat

Sciatica

Sciatica is a broad term that can represent many possible causes of relentless burning, shooting leg pain and tingling down your leg. The sciatic nerve is a large nerve in the low back and pelvis made of several nerves that join together. Typically, it only affects one leg. If pain is shooting down both of your legs, it could be something different. Some causes could be disc problems, arthritis, misalignment, pregnancy, and a tight piriformis muscle.

Chiropractic Treatment

Ultrasound is used to address sciatica. Also, electrical stimulation is used to decrease muscle spasm, chiropractic adjustments to take pressure off of the involved nerves that feed into the sciatic nerve, therapeutic exercises including stretching of the piriformis muscle and manual therapy and/or Graston Technique to reduce myofascial adhesions that have built up in the region.

  • Shoulder Blade Pain

Deep, cramping, sharp, and intense shoulder blade pain could be caused by a rib that is out of place or misaligned. The shoulder blade pain is worse with breathing deeply, sneezing, and coughing. The pain in your shoulder blade can radiate to the front of your chest, into your neck, and down your arm to your hand. You may also feel numbness and tingling into the forearm and hand of the shoulder blade side that is affected. Your hands could also feel weak. If these symptoms occur on the left side, please go first for a cardiac workup. It is vital to note these symptoms could also be caused by a heart problem.  Please have this ruled out before seeking chiropractic treatment.

    Chiropractic Treatment

Chiropractic treatment would involve ultrasound and ice to help with inflammation, electrical stimulation to help with the muscle spasm or cramping, and adjustments to put the rib back into place. The entire spine would be adjusted because it is indirectly affected. Several adjustments would be required depending on the degree and severity of the rib misalignment. After you improve, therapeutic exercises would be reviewed to improve your posture to help keep the rib in place. Other names for this condition are rib misalignment, dislocated rib, slipped rib, and rib subluxation.

  • Hip Bursitis

Hip Bursitis is inflammation of the bursa sac that protects the hip and helps the hip move smoothly. It can be caused by direct injury and overuse, such as running and sports. Hip pain, in general, when touching the hip and laying on the hip, are signs you have this. Hip pain when climbing stairs, getting out of the car, and running are also caused by this condition. Hip Bursitis is a painful condition that can be treated conservatively.

    Chiropractic Treatment

Chiropractic care provided would be ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation therapy, ice or heat, manual therapy, Graston Technique, chiropractic adjustments to the spine, and mobilization of the hip.
